Two interesting resources on the mobile web:
IYHY.com allows you to pull an existing website through a filter and make it all mobile-friendly. Seems to work pretty well.
Mike Davidson presents an interesting tutorial on how to create a mobile-friendly mirror of your website using a sub-domain and a few lines of PHP. His examples of how it works with existing sites such as Stopdesign are pretty cool.

How cool is that: Tripods – a game that uses Google Maps for its game board. Work with other players to destroy evil tripods that look suspiciously much like Google Maps’ pink markers with two extra legs attached. :-D Way cool.

Yes, yes, just like the rest of the blogosphere, I too love this keyboard.
Iets waar je tijdens het online kopen van een boek op zondagochtend niet op voorbereid bent: breinbrekende keuzes aangeboden door een bestelformulier.
Mijn betere helft wilde graag een boek voor een vriendin bestellen (het geweldige ‘Zorg’ van Miguel Bulnes) en deze als cadeau laten bezorgen.
Bol.com had het boek op voorraad, dus werd besloten van hun diensten gebruik te maken. Van de knop “in winkelwagentje” was met “Ga verder met bestellen” de sprong naar het adresformulier snel gemaakt:
“Vul hier uw woon- of vestigingsadres in,” adviseerde Bol.com. Zo gezegd zo gedaan. De zonnige winkelervaring kwam echter tot een abrupte stilstand onderaan het formulier, waar een drietal checkboxen prijkten.
De opties die werden aangeboden stonden alledrie aan. Bij het lezen van de eerste optie ontstond grootte verwarring en frustratie:
“Wilt u dat uw factuur op een ander adres wordt bezorgd, klik dan in het vakje zodat het vinkje verdwijnt.”

I discovered it through Chris Heatcote’s blog (thanks Chris) and decided to give it a go. Signing up is painless, browsing through the music works reasonably well (although they could take a few hints from services like Odeo when it comes to interface design) and buying an album is easy, you can even use PayPal, so no looking around for your credit card. Best of all is the fact that the files are plain mp3s without DRM. Lovely. Give them a try!
A new version of iSync is released. But still no support for my Nokia 6230. Aaargh. Come on, Apple!
This weekend I had some time to fiddle around with my homepage at www.leapfrog.nl. I decided to create a dashboard-like page that shows my latest contributions to several sites. I’m no programmer, so RSS Digest was a great help in glueing everything together. Thanks to the continueing opening up of the web’s content through RSS, now I have one place to show what I’ve been up to recently. Joy!
