Thanks for dropping by and commenting, Jacqueline and Iskander. Let me make one thing clear: It wasn't so much the organisers as some of the speakers who in my opinion did not have a solid grasp of what context actually is. I realise that for many people it might be a radical thing to say that as a designer, you cannot determine a context, it is people who determine context. We (designers) can only provide the representations from which it is determined.

Good review, felt the same. And I totally agree on your definition of context. This is one of the most interesting and inspiring challenges in the current concepts for online functionality IMO. How to deal with this continuous flexible using process. And indeed: designing value is all about designing from the context of use not from the context of user characteristic.

@jacqueline: I have to defend the Momo guys in some way. I found this edition one of the weaker ones, but I think the crew do understand the concept of context in principle (see f.e. http://tinyurl.com/5kbhoh). Maybe they translate it (under influence of the audience) in another definition of value.

I was there too and felt a little bit disappointed just like you about the same things that is: 1 the context = location conclusion but it did not suprise me since this is an opinion that I heard before from the MoMo-crew
2 the 'points' that Rachel Hinman made about creating new products and services that are fitting in peoples lives by- in my own words- 'getting out of your office, reading the street, designing and marketing by walking around'
